With today’s complex IT environments, burgeoning data and growing user communities, the last thing you need is a complicated database engine that requires constant tuning in an attempt to keep up with your demands. InfiniDB’s column based database technology breaks through that paradigm with an all-software architecture designed from the ground up to be simple - simple to install, load, scale, tune, manage and use.

No Manual Indexing or Partitioning Required

Getting exceptional data load and query performance from the InfiniDB Enterprise columnar database does not require a seasoned database expert to design and tune the system. InfiniDB takes away the database design and administration headaches through its auto-management architecture framework.

Being column-oriented, InfiniDB requires no indexing, which means database administrators and developers don’t have to worry about complex indexing schemes and the subsequent storage overhead. It obviates the need for traditional indexing because, in essence, the column is the index. InfiniDB utilizes an automatically maintained structure that keeps track of where the data is and how it should best be retrieved.

Further, manual data partitioning and storage placement is eliminated with InfiniDB. The InfiniDB column based database uses a form of logical horizontal range partitioning that does not require special storage placement or schema design. Using both vertical and horizontal range partitioning allows InfiniDB to reduce I/O in both directions - column and row. Partitioning is automatically handled by the database and requires no user intervention.

Easy Management and Monitoring

The InfiniDB column based database has a built-in data management, monitoring, and alerting system that proactively maintains the deployment configuration. System alerts can be configured so an administrator can be notified of issues that may threaten either the performance or availability of the system.
